My contribution to workplace and home well-being is through human connection. What I offer brings more than just physical and mental benefit for the individual involved. It ripples out to everyone in that person’s life, and can sow the seed for long term better human connections, which will lead to happier, healthier and ultimately more productive people. Conversation and connection beats misunderstanding and frustration any day!

The importance of maintaining body-mind-spirit balance should not be underestimated in helping to keep us functioning well as humans. And massage, reiki, coaching and meditation all help with achieving and maintaining this balance. On a personal mental and physical level, I believe we either make time for well-ness or we’re forced to make time for ill-ness. Making time for wellness beats having to recover from illness any day, and is so much more enjoyable too. So make yourself, and your wellbeing, a priority. Prevention is always better than cure.

I am registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and as such hold full qualifications and insurance for all the therapies I practice. Search these registers under my full name, Katharine Brown.

Massage is a hands-on therapy in which the practitioner aims to relax the soft tissues, increase delivery of blood and oxygen to the massaged areas, warm them, and help the body to relax.

Massage may be found to bring relief from everyday aches, reduce stress, increase relaxation, address feelings of anxiety and tension, and aid general wellness. It can also be used in support of other therapies to assist in the rehabilitation of muscular injuries.

Meditation is the process of calming and reconnecting mind, body and spirit (emotions).

This is usually done by gently focusing the attention on a specific thing – breath, movement, story/imagery, mantra, visualisation.

Meditation can be done lying down, seated, standing or moving and has proven effects on the brain’s structure, which have practical implications for our learning, concentration, aging, thoughts, emotions and quality of life.

Our philosophy is prevention is better than cure, and with the number of sick days taken through work place stress and postural problems rising, we’re discovering that employers are in agreement.

We work with forward thinking employers who value the mental and physical well-being of their employees. This makes good business sense, as people are the greatest asset any business has, and the relationship between employer and employee is everything.

Whether part of rest and recuperation, reward and recognition, or an embedded offer of your weekly or monthly wellbeing package, your employees will greatly benefit from their workplace therapy. And so will your business.

Coaching is all about holding space for the client to explore their own life, issues and stressors, and to uncover their own solutions, so they can create the life experience they want.

I believe every individual has their own answers, but oftentimes having someone to talk to helps.

The questions and summaries the coach provides can be invaluable in helping the client to hear and see for themselves their own patterns and stories. And once a pattern or story is uncovered, once it enters consciousness, that’s where the power is, because now the client can make a choice – continue with the story/pattern, or change it!

Reiki is a healing modality. It works with the seven main chakras of the body. The aim is to balance the body’s energy by helping to remove energy blocks. This helps strengthen the aura – the protective energy field around a person.

You are alive. That requires a consciousness and an energy. Reiki works with these to help improve your lived experience – be that through acceptance, emotional release or physical improvements.

While it may look as if the therapist is doing ‘nothing’, they are actually holding the positions, visualising energy flowing and maintaining focused concentration on their client the whole time. This is what helps to create the incredible calm and relaxed state for the client.

Reiki healing can also be performed at a distance – with the client and practitioner in completely different physical locations.

Oracle cards are used for asking questions and receiving intuitive answers to help guide you.

They don’t tell your future, and will rarely give you yes/no answers.

What they do is allow you to sit with your questions and uncertainty. They allow you to ask the right questions of yourself to help you find the right answers for you.

Oracle card readings are often a source of support and encouragement and are used by many to help them tap into their intuition and further their personal growth.

Our children are our future. We want them to succeed, but equipping them with all the knowledge they need to face an ever-changing fast-paced external world can often seem challenging.
